Thoughts of Illegal Immigrants and Tourists
Illegal Immigrants and tourists, two different groups of people, right? yes they do have their differances, but they share many similarities, Both invade an area, one on a seasonal basis and one the other just invades, Both also make the cost of living rise; one group by raising real estate prices and the other by not paying taxes and sucking social resources dry (i.e local health departments, welfare,..etc), and both clog the roads either on bikes, mopeds, or cars. Yes I know that there are arguments for toursists and suprisingly for Illegals, but the cons outweigh the pros.
The argument for tourists is that they bring money into the local economies, but as stated earlier they also drive the price of real estate, along with gas, and groceries, but tourists can be tolerated because they are only here for a season and the majority of them are just like you and me on vacation trying to get away from it all.
The argument for Illegals is that they do the jobs that most people would not do, well you are right, most people no matter how desperate will not work for less than minimum wage, not pay taxes, and then get treated like dirt, most people would not do it, me included.
So to wind it up these are some of the things on my mind I think that you can tell I dont like tourists or Illegal Aliens, there kinda like leeches, or a bad rash that you can"t get rid of.
Anyway this will be my only angry/annoyed post for the week.

a "rousting stick" is a stick that is used to wack people who do stupid things one example are those who mess up public restrooms.

Good points, I do think that christians should reach out to the hispanic community, whatever there immigration status, and I too thank God that I was born in America, and you are right I can not imagine what it would be like to live in a third world country. To comment on some other points, I dont nessecarilly look down on illegal immigrants individually, but rather the system that it creates; a sub-class citizen who is willing to work for less than the minimum wage,(which is why they are struggling to get by,and not saying that you can live off of minimum wage, but, if the positions that these people work were held by legal citizens many would pay more than minimum wage),and not pay social security, federal, state, and local taxes. And instead of becoming a help to the economy they become a drag on it. They cannot make ends meet, so then they turn to social programs,( which are funded by tax dollars,) like welfare, food stamps and WIC, that were designed for legal residents to help them get back on their feet. and because they are not paying into the system it increases the cost to those who do, you and me.
As far as coming here and making a better life its not like they are climbing the corporate ladder starting there own companies, buying homes, and living the american dream, they stay trapped, and stagnant.
and when I have a choice I dont buy anything that I know might be a product of an Illegal alien, but its not like companies advertise it that they do or do not hire illegals, theres not a sign that says "Immigrant Free Tomatoes", which is why as christian consumers we have to be well informed, and what about the people that hire illegals in the first place, well those are thoughts for another post.
but I do agree they are not going away any time soon, and that we as cristians have a moral obligation to reach out to them.

I have to say that I COMPLETELLY AND ABSOLUTELLY AGREE WITH ALL THE INMIGRATION STATEMENTS POSTED HERE!
The only thing that I MUST ADD is... the're so much room for the improvement in the gobernment policies against Illegal Inmigrant and PRO Legal Inmigrants. SO MUCH!
It seems they lawsite they treat the issue to trigger more and more the Illegal Inmigrants and reduce more and more the Legal Inmigrants index!
Being a Temporary Non Inmigrant Allien i won't lye to you saying that in my mind I have not flirted with the idea of becoming illegal.
So far I've done all what the law requires for me to stay and everything has gone by fine the book. Most people are not as lucky as me thogh, but also I think; when I run out of luck and I find the firt wall in my way. I'm just gonna turn around and go back because I don't want to be in a place where I'm not wanted. I wish most inmigrant/tourists would have respect for other and respect for themselve when they go to a foreing land. That would save so many people so much time, money and trouble!
