Thoughts on Next Door Neighbors
Is it just me or are people becoming less friendly these days. In the south if you see someone in the neighborhood, typically you would say"Hi", or at the very least give a wave.
Recently this has not been the case, we moved into a new apartment about a month ago, the place has a variety of people in it. An older guy who lives by his self, a family with two kids, a few couples, some single girls, about 7 Mexicans who work at El Zarape(piled in a two bedroom 2.5 bath) and some single guys.
Well, being the southern gentleman that I am, I give the wave and the "Hi, how's it going?", the only responses that I have gotten in return are mainly blank stares and looks, with the exception of the single guys, and the older guy.
One example that sticks out is with one of the single girls who live next door. We had been living there a couple of weeks when I noticed a moving van out front, well, the next day there was a new car parked in our neighbors parking spot with out-of-state plates. While going to check the mail I saw her going to the car,
I then said "Hi, how are you?"
no response from her
Me; "did you just move-in?"
her; "No"
Me;"okay, well I'm Nick, I'm your next door neighbor"
her; no response.
a few days later as I was leaving for work saw her walk out of her door.
again gave the obligatory wave
her; blank stair.
I just don't get it, I do not know what this area is coming to, when you are the one being friendly and are looked at like a freak.

yeah....it's sad how quickly the north is invading the southern hospitality that we all love and know.....
the worst part is, when they come down here they invade small towns, get on the town council, head up the local neighborhood associations(which are a crock of crap anyway) and start changing the rules.
there is a strong dislike for those damn carpetbaggers

oh YEAH 15th!! or is it more like 9th >>the number of people that have posted. Whats the critiria on the "oh yeah's"?
its just the current number that you post
with first posts being the ones that are worth more
i usually only give an "oh Yeah" if im in the top three, but if it is over 20 or something like that i just do it for posterity.
oh yeah 18th lol
